Islay is well known for many things but most famously for its eight working malt distilleries, extensive wildlife and amazing beaches. 


The distilleries on the island include Ardbeg, Bowmore, Bruichladdich, Bunnahabhain, Caol Ila, Kilcholm, Lagavulin and Laphroaig.  Tours are available should you wish to find out more about them. 

Tigh Gorm is ideally situated within walking distance (3 miles) to Laphroaig, Lagavaulin and Ardbeg with its acclaimed restaurant.


Islay is renowned for its wildlife. From otters to golden eagles, deer to hen harriers.  There is something for everyone to enjoy in its rugged and captivating landcape.  


Islay offers a plethora of beautiful sandy beaches.

Golf, Fishing and Walks

The famous Machrie golf course is only a 3 miles away. There are also many lochs where fishing permits and boats can be hired, or take a stroll in the many walks in Islay to admire the splendid, rich in wildlife, scenery.
